This is the card I created for today's Teapot Party, based on the colors for this week's color challenge - Wild Wasabi, Blushing Bride and Primrose Petals. Unfortunately, we were asked to make sympathy cards this week for the family of a young women who lost her lifelong battle at the age of 27.
I cut the Bella Bouquet die from HOTP pre-embossed paper and adhered the negative piece to white cardstock, then sponged with Distress Inks. I cut the bouquet again from green cs. I adhered the green die cut to a vellum piece large enough to cover the card front and lined it up with the negative space in the sponged piece. I attached the vellum with small dots of glue behind the flower petals and the junction of the stems. I die cut this piece, added half pearls to the corners and carefully glued down the vellum with dots of glue behind the pearls. Hope that makes sense... the frame was cut and placed on the card base and the focal image adhered in place. Because it's three layers (card stock, HOTP paper and vellum), there is the slightest bit of dimension.
The sentiment was stamped on vellum with VersaMark and heat embossed with white detail ep. I lined up the sentiment strip on the card, laid the labels die over it, taped the vellum to the die and cut it so that the edges would match the focal image.
I'm very pleased with how this turned out, and I hope it brings a small bit of comfort to Leanne's family to know so many people are keeping them in their thoughts and prayers.
Edited: I appreciate all the kind messages of welcome, but this isn't my first tea party - just to clear up the confusion -
