Here is another card inspired by today's FS, ELLIE! She has a great gallery with a few nautical cards that caught my attention. This blue/green background reminded me of a knit bag I saw at yesterday's IC site, Preppy Anything, so I decided to use those colors for my card background. Instead of a ship, I stamped a fish scene.
I used my SU's Oh, Wave wheel (see TIP below) with neon blue and green ink for the bottom, neon blue for the bubbles, neon green for the splashes and neon blue for the top background. For the top, I randomly swiped the neon blue ink pad across my acrylic block (no water) and pressed the top of my card into it. After I added the neon green splashes, I stamped over it with a Tim Holtz distressed dots stamp. I stamped all of the fish. I attempted to color them with my new Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. Unfortunately, trying to add "texture" by drawing lines, dotties, blotches, and mixing colors, made them look like they have skin disorders, instead of 'cute.' LOL I'll have to practice a lot more to achieve my desired effect. Hee!
THANKS for looking at my card! Your comments are appreciated!
Stamps: Paper Smooches, Stamper's Anonymous Dylusions by Dyan Reavley, SU
Paper: Reflections
Ink: Hero Arts, Versafine
Accessories: Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils, acrylic block (see technique above)
TIP: I don't have success w/stamping wheels but I like some of the designs. When I buy them, I take off the rubber add either add several coats of Alene's Tack It Over and Over or cling foam, so I can use them w/my acrylic blocks. (Tack It for those I probably won't use often; cling foam to those I will probably use more often..)

Your card is great! I want to use something similar for a graduation card. I really, really appreciate your detailed tips on how you made it. That is such a big help to beginners. Nicely done.

Gabby, this is so stinkin' CUTE. Love the use of neon inks. You rocked both challenges, girl!
