This week the teaparty is for a special lady. Barb, brought to our attention by fellow Teapotter/SCSer Dorothy (etsdes), is a fourth grade teacher. Since 1995, Barb and members of her club have spread sunshine by making and distributing more than 47,000 greeting cards to people who are ill, mourning, lonely or struggling with other adversity in their lives. For Barb, helping students become more caring and kind toward others is part of her calling as a teacher. What a wonderful lady!
Since we need to get Sadie Lynn and Sallie Lou back up to the schoolhouse, why not have a cute fella to get their attention! LOL Apple boy is a digi by Sassy Cheryl. I colored with copics, fussy cut and placed on dimensionals.
The schoolhouse is a digi by Whimsie Doodle. There is a little coloring and some paper peicing for that and the tire swing is popped out on a dimensional. The cloud is a Quickutz which I did in black and then white, but trimmed the white to be able to see the black. The sun was stamped on Colorbok paper and fussy cut. The "grass" was made with white c/s. I colored the SU! Filigre background stamp with the watercolor crayon and then sprayed the stamp with water and stamped. Then I used a couple of creamy chalks to add more color. I cut a "pathway" and dotted with various copic marker colors. The sentiment was stamped and also fussy cut....no wonder it takes me so long to made a card!!! LOL
The inside says:
With a special gift for learning
And with a heart that deeply cares,
You add a lot of love
To everything you share,
And even though
You mean a lot,
You'll never know how much,
For you helped
To change the world
Through every life you touched.
You sparked the creativity
In the students whom you taught,
And helped them strive for goals
That could not be bought,
You are such a special teacher
That no words can truly tell
However much you're valued
For the work you do so well.

I also paper pieced the purple apple and used white embossing powder on the back with another thank you stamp.
Thanks so much for taking a peek. I love that we are honoring this VERY special teacher! Excellent, A+++ : )

What an enchanting scene you've created, Kathleen. Love that old-fashioned sun image and the sentiment in the clouds, also the wonderfully pieced setting for the schoolhouse. And you dressed up your apple too - way to go!
