I was honoured and thrilled to be invited to join the talented ODBD DT as a guest for January - what a wonderful start to the new year!
This week's ODBDSLC137 challenge is to use something old and something new, and can be found HERE.
A2 kraft base.
My new - Surging Sea, which I bought just before Christmas but hadn't yet had time to ink up. I stamped it on watercolour paper with Versafine black. I used a Sakura clear glaze pen to create a resist on the white foam in the water, and then I painted the image with Winsor & Newton watercolours.
My old - I was planning to use my crimper but I think it's faulty, it never seems to work even on copy paper! At least it added a bit of texture, which I then brayered with Pumice Stone, edges sponged with Chipped Sapphire. My WRMK hardware is also old; I used a brad on the compass rose, and another piece to attach the sentiment panel with twine.
Sentiment is also from the Surging Sea set, cut with Spellbinders ovals, sponged with Tea Dye, Antique Linen and Peeled Paint.
I added a piece of dry-wall mesh pleated and stitched down to the textured layer, and some brads, and then popped the image panel up on foam.
