This card was created mainly for the Tea Pot Tuesday challenge this week (MMTPT152). It is an abacus made from a tree and owls. The owls and wood grain stamps are new to me. The topiary stamp is really old and the Simply Best is medium old. So I also fit within the use old and new stash challenge for Thursday (WT329).
For this card I applied blue and green in directly for the background on white paper. Then I stamped the wood grain twice to make a long piece (C.C. on Crumb). I hand drew and cut the trunk then sponged and distressed the edges. I also stamped the topiary trunk stamp many times and cut them out for branches. I die cut the leaves and stamped them with two greens and leaf stamp. Then I used pieces of them for the foliage. I stamped along the trunk to mark the numbers represented by the abacus. The leaves and flowers and owls represent the beads/numbers. I stamped and colored and cut out the owls. I stamped and cut out the flowers and the sentiment (punch). I also sponged the edge of the sentiment in Teal.

Tashsa I am so glad that you joined the tea party!!! This is the best place to be on Tuesdays (or pretty much any day)! I love this card!! Great idea and theme, gorgeous bright colors...your owls and leaves are wonderful. My favorite part is the trunk, and I see that camoflauged 42,000...very, very clever. Glad to see you posted another card...keep them coming!

Yaaaay! Another newbie to the teaparty! Did da Mudder give you your cookies? If not, just let me know, and I'll make sure that she does.
Your owl card is simply adorable! For some reason it reminded me of that ol' Australian song:
Kookaburra sits in the ol gum tree,
eating all the gumdrops he can see,
stop Kookaburra, stop Kookaburra,
leave some there for me.
