This year I promised myself that I wouldn't leave the task of making all of my Christmas cards until the week that they need to be mailed. I knew I wouldn't be able to get my CCC10 March/April cards done on time but I hope to be caught up to my monthly goal by the end of May. We have had snow (even if just a few flakes) just about every day in May - UNBELIEVABLE!!! But, I figured I might as well pretend it really is winter and make Christmas cards! 8 of them.
I had one of MrsBoz' cards in my favorites - she has the most wonderful gallery. Her White Petals card is gorgeous and other than using a slightly different punch, different nesties and a different sentiment, I stuck to her design. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! And hers is wonderful...
For this week's F4A11 challenge, we were to dig out our gel pens and put them to use - so I sparkled up the centres of the flowers on my embossed bg. Lots of dots!
I rolled the edges of my punched flowers and nesties across my ColorBox platinum ink pad. Used the same ink pad to stamp the sentiment which I then embossed with clear ep. Leaves are punched from metallic paper.
Although I've not been to one of Mothermark's tea parties before, I've often spied through the trees at the goings-on. This time, quite magically, I actually found myself at the party! If you believe it, this started out as a springy card filled with bright colours. Just like that, it was a Christmas card and all the colour had disappeared. The magician in question hasn't quite mastered removing metallic colours. (The front card on my inset has a few extra blossoms to hide a bit of a smudge left when the magician tried to rub out some of the platinum ink and smudged it.)
Punchkateerz: 2 punches/2 nesties with 11 punches/die cuts per card x 8 cards. 88 punches (plus 6 extras because of that smudge)
Anyway, that's more than you need to read!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi there~
What a beautiful, peaceful, stunning card! I love it! You can see it is popular! Look at the number of people taking their time to leave a comment
for you because it is so awesome! I think it is so incredible.
The only part I can't figure out, is what did you use to emboss the cover? Can you please email me and give me the specific name and company in it.
I love it, and haven't seen it anywhere. Thanks so much for your help!
8 cards ready to go...88 punches (I hope you used your feet...so your hands
didn't hurt... Congratulations. I would turn on some music and punch to the beat...it'd go by probably much quicker and have more fun!

Hello again,
Just had to leave one of your many comments on this beautiful christmas card! I too love highlighting my dry embossing with metallic or glitter pens, and this works SO well. You were so kind to leave an encouraging message for me, and it really meant a great deal. How smart you are to get your christmas cards started now! Absolutely gorgeous job, such an elegant card!

Wow, what a beauty. And you're right; the original is one great beauty, too. When I saw how many cards you made of this design, and that you hand-colored all flower centers, I felt for you. THat's a lot of dots!
