These are super easy to make, work up very quickly and a great way to use up your patterned paper!
I purchased wooden alphabet blocks from my local craft store and painted the back and sides with black acrylic paint. Once dry, I adhered patterned scrapbook paper to the front of the letters. Using a VERY SHARP craft blade I cut the paper to the shape of the letters.
Finally, I sponged Basic Black Classic ink on the edges of all of the letters and then used the direct to paper technique to distress each letter.
From start to finish approx. 2 days with drying time. Total project time: 5 hours.

Hi Everyone,
I've had a couple of questions about the details of this project so I'd thought I'd share the answers on the post:
Materials over the 9 letters worked out to $3.50 per letter. (This includes the letter at $1.99, the acrylic paint, paper at .50 each, spray adhesive, craft knife with blades, & a sponge)
I purchased the materials at my local craft store. If you get into it and need help you can always pm me and I'll get back with you. I'm not particularly crafty (as evidenced by my gallery) so I go by the rule, if I can do it ANYBODY can!
I painted only the back and sides. I cut the paper 1/4" bigger than the blocks, sprayed a generous amount of Elmer's spray adhesive on the block and pressed the paper on the face of the letter. I waited two hours to trim the excess paper away from the wood block.
I sponged the face of each letter with Basic Black to darken the cut edges of the paper. Sponging also helps hide any small nicks in the wood from the craft blade. Then I used the stamp pad directly on the letter to give the distressed effect.
