Well, you know that I wasn't going to look at the challenge until tomorrow morning because I'm suppose to be in bed. According to my dh, I haven't been getting the proper sleep lately because I have been up all night and day. I'm not able to make any cards tomorrow because it's my grocery shopping day and its my son's 12th birthday.
Here is my story:
The Limited Supplies challenge is to use any type of bug, no more than 4 layers, and no dp on your card. The bee isn't a realistic bee but I think it'll work, I hope. It did say that we could ANY type of bug and I made my own b/g. Does that count?
I started out by stamping the bee onto white c/s with black ink. I colored it using Prismacolor pencils, odorless mineral spirits, and blending stumps. I added diamond glaze to the flag, bee, basket, wheels, hands, and feet. I added stickles to the wings, spokes, center of flowers, and sparkles. The flagpole is outlined with a gold gel pen. I colored the star on the flag with a white gel pen and went back over it with the diamond glaze. Matted to red and blue c/s. Set aside. I stamped the fireworks for the b/g with CTMH stamps in various inks onto white c/s. I used my sewing machine for the zig zag stitching around the edges of the white c/s. Matted it to the red c/s. I stamped tiny stars onto the red c/s as part of the b/g with versamark ink. I added a yellow star brad to the left corner and attached the ribbon. Adhered to base of the card. Stamped the sentiment. I think I followed the rules with the layers. I counted 3 layers if you are not counting the matting ones. This was fun to create and I hope you like it. Have a wonderful night.
Bonnie
*Maybe I should of gone to bed because the sentiment isn't dark enough, you can still see it though*
Also, you know how hard it is to try stamp and not make any noise?
