I love all things to do with Country Christmas. I didn't get to play in the WT challenge last night as I had to work on a special project but I decided to do it this morning before I left for work. I stamped the wreath on watercolor paper, painted and punched holes around it to thread the ribbon. I painted Distress Crackle Paint-Antique Linen on plain cardstock, created lines and wood markings in it while it was still wet with my paper piercer and heated to create the crackle. I sponged on Distress Vintage Photo to create more of a wood look and then ran the ink pad directly over spots to enhance the old wooden door appearance a little more. I used a dark brown Copic marker to color the HodgePodge hardware to create the hinges for my door and attached. I added the old-fashioned checked ribbon to the card for the country feel and created simple little cut out sentiments tags to hang from the bow. I love crackle paint and I haven't played with it for a while. Thanks for a great challenge, Julia.
Holy cow, it looks like real wood! The wreath is gorgeous, love the hinges and the plaid ribbon is so perfect for that country Christmas look. Awesome!
