Hi! This card was made for this weekÂ’s Sketch Challenge.
I have to say, IÂ’m so excited! I feel a bit better, and Markie made it a half day today at school before he called to come home. The poor kid, Mark and I all fell asleep in the living room while just sitting there! No tv on, nothing. We came in and sat down. A moment later Mark, Markie and the puppies were snoring! I lay back on the big pillow on the couch and felt myself slip away. We all slept for about 3 hours, until the UPS person banged on the front door making the puppies bark, Mark and Markie jump and me scream. What an awakening. We stayed awake for another few hours, and then Mark and Markie headed for bed at 5:30! IÂ’m still awake, so I think IÂ’ll be better tomorrow, too!
I enjoy making Holiday cards using the SAME stamp set. I often use trees, as they remind me of living on North Mountain in West Virginia. The times there were very special to us. When I think of home, I think of that mountain, and the winters spent there. My sister and I spent many days playing on the frozen pond and skating on the frozen floor of the woods. There was one blue spruce tree at the pond that stood out against the sky. I have been trying to capture that “feeling” of winter on my cards lately by using this image.
Base: 4 ¼” x 11” folded in half
Bottom layer: 5 ¼” x 4”
Next layer up: 5” x 3 ¾”
Red Layer: 4 ¾” x 3 ½”
Green Layer: 3 ½” x 2”

I stamped the tree in AdirondackÂ’s Espresso. Next, I sponged in Palette InkÂ’s Landscape. Next, I used Palette Cote de Azure to sponge in the sky. I used a 2-Way Glue pen and ultra fine glitter to add sparkle to the tree and added snow with Liquid Applique.
Finished card size: 4 ¼” x 5 ½”
Total time to complete: 25 minutes
