The background was painted with distress paints. I removed the dauber and used a brush. The image was stamped and all the parts that were to be colored were painted with gesso. Pencil blends so well over gesso making this fun to color. The snowflake has wink of stella on it but the scan wasn't going to pick that up. Tiny 2mm nailheads were added for interest and edges were sponged a bit darker. Thanks for stopping by.

Oh my, Nancy, this is fabulous - thanks to the CAS Favorites thread my attention was drawn here! Your background is so soft and the image is beautiful - thanks for the tip about using gesso before pencils!

Wow, Nancy, what a stunning card!! I learn from you every time you post a card - the pencils truly do color well over the gesso - love the warm, soft sponging too - wondered if that is a digi or a stamp!? Really a gorgeous card!!
