This card is for today's sketch challenge, as well as a double dare challenge I do with a group of friends each week. Anne, jdmommy, challenged us to make a card inspired by anything related to the Olympics this year. Since they are being hosted in China, I chose an Asian theme using this dog image for the Chinese astrology of the Year of the Dog, as well as the rich color of copper and the flourishy design. I made it masculine for a co-worker's birthday who happens to have been born in one of the years for the Year of the Dog.

WOW! This is fabulous with all that coppery glow and embossing! Love how you wove the gold cording through the focal image to frame the dog. Awesome job on this card!!

what an amazing take on Anne's challenge and the sketch, there is so much visual interest here, Charlene with the textures and monochromatic color! And you've inspired me to go have a look at what animal I was born under!!!! oh, let's hope not the rat or snake.....oh yikes~~~it is snake! I think I'm gonna petition for a change...I wanta cat!!!! Girl, did I evey have fun with this sidetrip!
