Wendy's free for all challenge-Inspired by the 70's!
Back in the day, my parents would rent a station wagon to visit relatives every summer. Our family of six, would pile into the wagon at 3am to reach our destination 12 hours later.
My siblings (DS & 2DB) would sprawl in the back (with the back seat down) and play board games (Trouble, Monopoly, & cards). We would dream of traveling beyond our relatives to unchartered states throughout the US, and we 'pretended' where we would live when we grew up.... Let me just say, the imaginative stories had our parents laughing histerically, minimizing our long journey. It was the best bonding time ever!
For this card, I tried my first mountain background by masking and sponging on color.
I then stamped the car image in Tranquil Tide and colored with a sparkle pen in sea breeze color, & silver metallic gel pen.
I masked the car, and used a light gray color chiseled marker for the road.
I watercolored/painted in the trees and landscaping, finished with stamping the sentiment in Dapper Denim.
Fun trip down memory lane!!

Fabulous job on that bg - wow! And I love how the station wagon just pops from the bg. And what a great backstory too - we did lots of road trips also, 7 of us packed in the station wagon! Faved.

FANTASTIC! Your rolling hills and mountains are beautifully done. This looks so like a soft watercolor painting with an old retro station rolling along. Great card!

The card reminds of my father's big station wagon in the 1960s! We camped from Pennsylvania to California and back. Lovely watercolor landscape in the background!
