For Jeanne's MIX211 to use mixed media and add a heart to our project. I'm glad it didn't have to be Valentine's, as I don't need any cards for that. Instead I added several yellow primitive hearts doing duty as a bunch of spring flowers.
When I read the challenge this morning I was planning to use a different background piece from my desk - but it was too busy and too textured to stamp on. So I used this, which was Brusho powders on wet paper. I stamped and embossed the sentiment, then edged the card with gold paint through the basketweave stencil. That's already two mediums, but the yellow flowers were punched from a piece of paper misted with Brusho acrylic mist - the paper was thin and the colour bled through in spots, so it's perfect for punching out but not for what I originally wanted it for. I put a little glue on the back of each heart and stuck on short lengths of hemp twine, then tied them together and arranged them on the card with a foam dot under each. Added some die-cut foliage sponged with green ink, and added Stickles to both the flowers and foliage. The seam-binding bow was coloured by mopping up wet Brusho waste from my non-stick mat and left to dry crumpled up.
