I had so much fun playing around in the kitchen this morning. I started out with the ideas from this cool tutorial and added in a few twists of my own. I initially started with a tag and instant coffee granules. On this one, I dipped the whole tag in a coffee solution then sprinkled dry instant coffee crystals and some salt crystals on top of that. While it was still wet, I sprinkled on some cocoa powder and ground cinnamon. I took a toilet paper tube dipped in a stronger coffee solution and "stamped" the rings. At this point I put the tag into my oven's warming drawer on high. I sort of lost the definition from the rings so I went back again and added rings over the top of the previous ones and dried again.
Once I had my tag, I used yesterday's sketch with a piece of dp and a strip of coffee sleeve behind my tag. I used a hardwood stamped diecut and a sentiment strip with a notch punched into it as my lower element. I had thought to use a coffee cup image, but decided to just punch a couple of hearts from a piece of polished stone (minus the metal ink) paper. I can't wait to have time to work with the other papers and tags I made. So much fun....thanks for the challenge Sabrina! I've never had much luck with salt, but it really worked well with the coffee, not too much on this tag, but on others it is even better. I'veblogged about itwith step by step photos.
