This is for IC445 and Audrie's The Art of Journaling Pinterest site was our inspiration for today. Wow! I kept wanting to make a journal project and there was so much inspiration. I gave the journal idea up though as I don't have enough time today. I settled on this Fabric and Floral journal found here: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/387591111653829035/
I was most inspired by the defining lines in the two larger flowers. I pulled out the IO Bunch of Blossoms stamp set so I could create those kinds of defining lines in my flowers. I misted the flowers and lightly applied worn lipstick ink with my mini applicator while they were still wet. I wanted the color light so some of the cream background could show through. I heat dried before going to the next step. I applied worn lipstick and frayed burlap ink to the inner flower lines on the stamp with distress markers and stamped the individual flowers. I didn't want the foliage color to overpower the flowers so I cut it using the same vanilla paper, misted with water and applied shabby shutters ink with an ink blending tool, heat dried and cut.
There is a gorgeous Marianne Design oval frame behind all that foliage. It really wasn't my intention to cover it up but the design got away with me. LOL!
