For this week's teaparty, Sara and her fiance Dave will become husband and wife this weekend. Sara is the daughter of teapotter ctorina, and like her mother has quite elegant tastes (so I have been told).
Also, for the try a new technique, Judy asked us to make a card with rolled flowers. So, I thought it would be perfect to combine the two and make this card.
I used Tim Holtz distress ink (Tea Dye) and Shabby Tote chalk on the edges. I made the rose by rolling a 5x5 cream shiny paper. Then I used a five petal (2.75 inches across) cream colored paper flower as the base and curled the edges a little.
The sentiment was stamped with Perfect Medium and I used gold embossing powder. I added some cream colored lace and a ribbon. To make sure they stayed secure, I added white heart shaed brads. Also, there is a diamond shaped brad with nine round rhinestones just under the rose. Sorry you can's see it in the photo.
Thank you Marie for hosting the teaparty this week! Judy, thank you too, very fun challenge! And as always, thank you so much for taking a peek!
To the Happy Couple, CHEERS!!!

Kathleen this is gorgeous! I love that sentiment. The die cut is so pretty and the flower is a knock out. Very elegant and the happy couple will treasure it.

Kathleen, this is such a perfect card for Sara & Dave...all of the elegant elements that you incorporated look amazing! I love your sentiment panel and distressing, but of course your rolled rose steals the show. I wanted to make some for the top of my cake, but I'm too big of a twit...so glad that you brought yours. Your lace and pearls earned you lots of extra cookies - make sure to get one of the really fancy-schmancy flower covered ones! Thanks so much for helping to make this party so special. Hugz!
