Sketch Challenge 345, which I flipped on the side.
Dirty Dozen Fan Club Theme for August 2011: In Your Footsteps. The stamper who has most influenced me with her stamping is Anna Wight, aka SweetMissDaisy. I fell in love with her coloring, so I had to purchase and use Prismacolor Pencils. Then I saw her watercoloring and wanted so much to make mine look even 1/10th as good as hers. So I began trying to perfect watercoloring (as you can see, I have a ways to go). Now I'm on to Copics, trying to learn to shade and use them to great advantage as does she.
Anna is a trendsetter, a joyful, creative free-thinker. Her vibrant personality comes out in the images she creates for Whipper Snapper Designs, Inc. and in the cards and projects she creates. She can do elegant, shabby chic, cute, clever, clean and simple, layered, distressed, you name it . . . . And she also believed in my abilities enough to ask me to be one of the Featured Designers for the cling-mount sets she illustrates for Whipper Snapper Designs.
In this card, I used watercolors in honor of Anna and sponged on Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the main image while it was in the Curved Rectangle Nestabilities, another technique Anna employs. I also sponged the corners of the paper and the edges of the flowers. I also chose this stamp because Anna lives on a farm in Texas and loves to preserve garden "truck" and to cook.
Thanks for being my inspiration, Anna, for believing in me, and for being my friend. Oh, and keep illustrating and blogging so you can go on inspiring.
