I live near Washington D.C. and although it's covered in snow right now, spring will come and the beautiful flowers and trees planted as a project of Lady Bird Johnson will bring the Nation's Capital to life soon. This card is an ode to spring and the flowers that it will bring.
Here is an image from Lady Bird Johnson's Wildflower Center: http://www.wildflower.org/gallery/re...id_image=12560
It will also go to a good friend and stamper that is in hospice care. Her cancer is unrelenting.
The flowers are stamped in white craft ink and the butterflies were cut at one time by layering the white CS with vellum and then keeping the layers together and gently separating them. I first saw this done on this stunning card by tencraftyfingers: Thinking of You by tencraftyfingers at Splitcoaststampers
Edited to add: The butterflies were done with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die from Stampin Up!

Love this so much I'm adding this to the Favorites Thread today. Your vellum butterflies are so beautiful, and I love the monochromatic color...so vivid!
