Only a day late for this sketch. I started it yesterday, but wasn't able to finish until today. I turned the sketch on its side to fit the images I wanted to use.
On white c/s, I brayed the different colors of Distress Inks, starting w/ the mustard in the middle and using progressively darker inks toward the edges. I stamped all the silhouette images w/ coal ink, added white highlights and used markers to add shadows beneath the images. The panels are edged w/ black, layered on the s.sun then a black layer.
The long side strip base is the g.green w/ strips of s.sun and 2 sliced off strips of my image panel bordered by black. In place of the center layer, I used some straw mesh ribbon w/ a few edge strands removed to give the frayed edges.
Raffia was tied thru the buttons before they were glued on. I was going to put a sentiment, but I sort of ran out of room, lol, so it will have to be on the inside.
Thanks so much for looking.

This is as warm as an African sunset! So stunningly beautiful, yet wild and wonderful. Your images, mesh, raffia and buttons are swirled together with great artistry and style. Totally LOVE it!
Can I pop over one day for a lesson on this kind of fabulous brayering technique? I'm really low maintenance and sort of a quick study ... (please note the "sort of" part ...)
