I started out making a simple quick card for one of my sisters who made a hurtful comment/question on the card I made her last year. This year I was going to buy one instead but got cheap.... didn't want to waste 3.00 of a card. My simple quick card ended up being more time consuming because I first stamped Fine Lace thinking I had grabbed Floral and wasn't paying close attention with so Saffron. It didn't show up. Took the Floral and with So Saffron stamped over that. Still didn't show up. Did give it a subtle texture tho. I used Cheese Cloth bg with Certainly Celery and stamped the bottom. Liked that. All edges were sponged with Always Artichoke. After assembling card the top still looked naked. So with Certainly Celery I stamped the berry stamp 7 times on top paner. Still needed something to make it pop. Took a new pencil and with eraser and Always Artichoke I stamped circle inside each berry. Next year I will buy a cheap card!

Wow!! All those backgrounds really give this card depth. It is lovely. Non creative types sometimes believe in the commerical hype so much , you know- "when you care enough to send the very best..." that they miss the reality of what handmade is all about. Handmade extends a part of you and allows for a real connection. This card is all that and more.
Don't let negative comments get you down.
If it isn't appreciated then don't bother. There is always someone who will appreciate the efforts and you can feel good that you brightened up someone's day.
