This was such a fun challenge today - Thank you Susan for taking us to The Sylvia Beach Hotel. I started with a tour of the hotel finding the first few rooms I visited a bit staid & boring. Then I stumbled upon the Agatha Christie Room and knew this was where I was meant to be with it's teals, burgundy's and hidden objects! Agatha was one of the first authors I read from one end of the shelf to the other at the public library ( I have since done that with dozens and dozens more). I sponged my amber, pinks & orange over a white panel then applied milled lavender through the crackle stencil. I layered that with the TH diamond corner (homemade stencil) in Peacock Feathers and sponged shadows on the edges with Frayed Burlap. I stamped the Umbrella man, who reminds me of Hercules Poirot with his bowler hat, and a variety of objects which may or may not hold clues to the story unfolding here today. Stamped and watercolored the stack of books and hand wrote the title of the mystery.

This is stunning! where to begin--I love the layers of color and texture you've created, and how you've added such intriguing objects to be clues (or not). Such a fun way to do this challenge.

This is fabulous, Linda! Libraries were my fascination when i was in sixth grade school. Then I started looking beyond that and graduated to high school ......I agree with Sabrina that when I started going to the library, I found the library huge until I got older! Then i started with the As.....I i loved libraries!
Now I have my own.....if only my kids would return books....ugh
Your card is fabulous! Love the umbrella man among the books as well......TFS

Love the colors and intricacies of all your patterns and layers which combine to make a truly interesting background for your umbrella man silhouette. Also love the titles to your stacked books! This card would make a great cover for that mystery novel you’re working on!!

Ok, Linda. You really had me going here. I'm a huge Agatha Christie fan and have read so many of her books but sometimes a title comes up that I'm not familiar with. I actually googled the title of your book before I figured this out. Some detective I'd make! What a fabulous card you've created. Love it!

Linda, this card is fab. It makes me want to check out your mystery book from my local library. Love the bright colors with the white embossing and all the sponged details. Wonderful creation.
