Hello! It's time for a Watercolor Wednesday! This week Brenda's challenge to us is Daffodils. The artist we are following does a great job explaining as she goes along but unfortunately, I couldn't get it. I hand drew the daffodils twice. Once they were too small and I think they would have been ok but I really messed up the background. The second time I made them large enough but they were just a mess so as my watercolor time was nearing an end, I grabbed an older Sweet N Sassy image. It's a flower in a small block so I used Ink On 3 Fadeout ink and wiped the surrounding square away with my fingers. I stamped the flower twice. This will never be my favorite painting but as always I learned and had a great time painting. What I like about this is the salt worked! I don't always get salt to activate when I try this technique but it did a beautiful job this time. The other thing I liked was that I wasn't heavy-handed with my dark splatters!
I hope you will join us! We love to bring you talented artists to give instruction and tips but please know it's ALWAYS ok to use a stamp or digital image!

You achieved a beautiful translucent quality to your watercoloring....which is not easy to do. But it gives such a "freshness" and spontaneity to your lovely card, Angie.

As long as we are learning - that's the important part, that and having fun! I love your light green BG and you did get the salt to work well. I think your daffodils look fine too! You got good light and dark contrast on them.

This was a hard one for sure! I love your end result with lovely painting and that soft background. I think this was particularly hard due to the small size of a standard card.

A beautiful painting that would make a lovely Easter decoration.
