Jen aka jennifrann is hosting this weeks Teaparty for Barbara - pen pal of our very own Sabrina. Jen has challenged us to be inspired by the Traced Doodling or Zentangling tutorials found here at SCS.
Barbara loves the colour pink, fairies and nature. This should have been so easy, I love pink, fairies and nature, but it has taken me 3 days to get this right.
My mojo has gone on holidays, my foam blending tools are menopausal and I can't get the lids off my Izinks.
I had trouble blending the background until I realised the foam pads had dried out. A good spritz of water fixed that. To make the colours a bit more intense I scribbled some gellato crayons over the distress ink and wiped it over the cardstock using a baby wipe.
I stamped the Unity image onto copy paper and coloured her with Prismacolour pencils, Zest it pencil blend and a colourless blending pencil.
She was fussy cut and adhered to the card. I stamped her wings and carefully attached them. Hmmm something was very wrong - she looked like an angel, not a fairy. So I quickly removed her wings and decided it was a fairy on her day off.
I did the 'traced doodling" on fairy using a charcoal grey metallic pen by Kaiser, I also added a garland of Stickles.
Thank you for looking. I hope you are safe and well.

Love your "day off" fairy. My MOJO was definitely off this week too and I have a heap of scraps/samples to show for that. Still we both made it to the party and your card shows the great effort and care you took. Nicely done.

This is fabulous, Susie, doesn't look like you struggled at all. I know that feeling of nothing going right in the making of a card and it is frustrating. But I know Barbara will love this vacationing fairy and I love the Stickles at the top! Fun!

I had to laugh that your fairy looked like an angel, they are very similar aren't they Love how you did the title and the colors are fabulous, sounds like you had a lot of trouble but it turned out terrific, love that garland of stickles, so pretty!

My mojo is sadly lacking these days too. Thanks for sharing that, my friend! For starters, what you have done with the stickles looks absolutely magical. Love her multi patterned dress. I keep scrolling back up to look at everything you have done here. Spectacular!

I'm sure an angel would have been beautiful too, but I like the idea of a fairy resting her wings. The skirt on her dress is absolutely fabulous. And your backgrounds are always magical. This one looks all set for a Midsummer Night's Dream garden party with the Stickles and pearls

This is absolutely beautiful and so apropos of Barbara. If you knew her as I do, you would realize that she is a fairy resting her wings for the time being while she recuperates. She will love this card! Thank you.

Wowsers Susie! This is just spectacular my friend. I am not even sure where to start, but I do know if your mojo went on holiday (like mine did), something even better stepped in and took its place. I just adore this card and everything you did to create it, and I know Barbara will adore it too. You are a huge inspiration Susie! ~Karen.
