I'm getting my Tickle a Teapotter card in just under the wire this month! Sue's marvelous challenge is to be inspired by the cover of a book. I just finished Where the Crawdads Sing and highly recommend it.
This is my second attempt at my card. Distress Inks blend beautifully on glossy paper. And they keep blending, possibly smear if you forget to you the glaze!!! Still thinking about how I can salvage the smeared panel.
Take 2: I brushed on the sky and water, stamped some waves and rubbed on the glaze. Stamped the trees, layering different stamps to get the density, used a brush to create the horizon and rubbed on the glaze. Tried to find a boat silhouette stamp that resembled the cover, no luck. I have a fishing silhouette and this cute kissing couple. Romance won! Stamped the couple and you guessed it, rubbed on the glaze. (Turns out you can teach an old dog new tricks!) Die cut sentiment blocks for the outside and inside of the card. Stamped a corresponding verse on the inside and added a brad to keep the card in position. TFL

AMAZING, Carla. Your sunset sky is stunning and so well done...I'm sure as pretty as your first...don't ya' hate that when you mess up at the very end! Your silhouette trees and romantic couple and rippling water add such glorious serenity to your scene. I has to read the synopsis to find out what this stunning cover belongs to...it sounds like a great read! Perfect for your GREAT card!
