This card is for four of this weeks challenges:
Technique Challenge - Paint Swiping
CAS Challenge - Inspiration
Colour Challenge - Gorgeous Grape, Mint Macaroon & Highland Heather
Teapot Tuesday Challenge.
This weeks technique really caught my eye, not least of all because it used acrylic paints and I have a lot of them being a decorative folk artist as well as a card maker, so off I went using the colour for this weeks colour challenge because they are my quintessential colours.
After three attempts I settled on the third swipe and used part of the first swipe for the inside of the card.
I used a stencil and some texture past to give the elision of gingham. You have to have an amazing imagination for this to look like gingham...lucky I have lol.
I swiped the raised stenciling with Versa Mark then brushed Perfect Pearls - Green Patina over this, but before I did that I splattered the whole thing with a splatter brush and the Brilliant Violet/Gorgeous Grape.
I then cut the poppy's out with the Penny Black die three times, once with the watercolour paper and two more times with SU Whisper White.
I then coloured the poppies first drawing in the petals as this is a single solid die with no detail.
Once this was dry I sandwiched the to whisper white layer and the watercolour layer together to give it strength and height.
I stamped the quote onto some Glorious Grape card stock with Versa Mark - Watermark then embossed it with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder.
I used one of the banners from SU Framlits - Bunch of Banners snipping one of the ends off.
At this point I put everything together before attaching the poppies or greeting, including doing the inside.
Last but not least I attached the poppies image with Tombo Glue then attached the greeting with SU dimensionals and added Nuvo Crystal Drops - Simply White and that's it folks....apart from the fact that I wasn't happy with my swiping so after completing the card I decided to watch the video of the technique and what do you know you don't use an old credit card you use baby wipes ..... another case of "When all else fails read the instructions"
I'm going to have another go tomorrow and see if I can get it right.
Thanks for looking and if you got to the end of these ramblings well done.
Hugs Marg.
