I made this card for this week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. Polly is our hostess this week and she chose the theme of "A Sister's Love." This challenge is near and dear to my heart so I simply had to play along.
The recipient is going through an incredibly difficult life challenge so I wanted to make a card that felt like a true heartfelt hug. This smiling snowman came to mind immediately because it looks like he is ready to give someone a great big hug.
I inked up the embossing folder with gumball green ink before embossing it so the knitted pattern shows up better. Then die cut the hearts out of the center to create an aperture. Placed a white piece of cardstock behind the aperture that was sponged with tumbled glass ink around a scalloped circle die to create clouds. Snowbanks were made with white glitter cardstock and stitched landscape dies. The snowman was colored with copic markers and glitter added with a Zig 2-way glue pen. Once all the elements were in place, then attached the scene panel behind the top knit panel. Added narrow foam strips behind the scalloped heart piece and fit this around the aperture so it is dimensional. Lastly, added the sentiment die.
I am also adding this card to this week's Alphabet challenge for the letter A for this Adorable snowman.
This card does not change Jamie's situation, but hopefully, she realizes how many people care about what she is going through and maybe this will lift her spirits a bit. Thank you for this fabulous challenge Polly and thanks for looking today. ~Karen.

Wow, Karen, you are absolutely correct, this snowman is adorable! Such a cute and cuddly card. Love the sweater embossing and the heart cut out - a warm hug with a fold in it!

Awesome card, Karen. You rocked the challenges. The snowman is adorable and looks just like he's ready to give a hug. Love the embossed panel like a warm knitted sweater. The heart opening is terrific. Very nicely done! Hugs to you, too.

A very beautiful, well-designed 'heartfelt hug' card, Karen. If I were Jamie, I would be deeply touched by your caring and support, and smiling every time I looked at your card.

This is fab. It's always, I think, extra special for a TPT recipient when they get a card from someone who has "walked in those shoes". Love your cute snowman, and the way you highlighted the knit embossing. The heart framing of the aperture adds a very classy touch.
