I started by inking a round sponge blending tool with DOX amber ink and used that to "stamp" my sun. Then I started adding a rainbow of chalks applied with cotton balls to make the circular rainbow sky. Stamped the image with black ink and die cut the trees from a scrap of black cardstock. Since I grew up in the Midwest our Independence day celebrations were always plagued by swarms of flies, mosquitos and gnats!! So if you look closely you will see them here too applied with watered down ink flicked from a toothbrush held about 3 feet overhead.

Marvelous combination of ink and chalk for your beautiful twilight sky! The flag waving kids are adorable. I visited the Midwest during the summer and those pesky bugs are annoying. So fun to include them in your card.

This is really beautiful...awesome silhouette designed card. Outstanding BG...not sure how you did it, but it's perfect. In fact I just pinned this beauty.
