my hokey pokey is wonky, out of time and step...but I so appreciate anyone who can use their voice to sing and their rhythm to dance. Come have a look...I've brought a whole girls orchestra to the TeaPotter's party as our hostess, Wanda suggested!
I used the colors from this weeks Color Challenge given to us by bejoyce (Barbara). The coral and the peach I must admit are not favorites of mine...but when mixed with the olive...it's all good! I embossed this fantastic vintage big band image from a local rubber craftsman and watercolored the scene. I've got some mighty talented musicians. Notice the scene on the drum and one of the trumpet players actually has the thing they use to change the sound by almost plugging it up...what is that called you musically talented people? Anyway, my point was how marvelous it is the old stamp makers could create something so detailed.
I used the Tim Holtz 'Retro Repeat' dies to cut my colors as wall panels. I rather like how it looks against the band. And of course, the question of the day...what would you do if the Hokey Pokey is REALLY what it is all about?
Thanks for stopping by for this lite hearted fun. I am so glad I could bring the music to the parade, Wanda. Thank you so much.

I am really impressed that you had those shape cut outs that go so perfectly with this happy scene. and I love that you still play with your older stamps too

Wow - talk about a big band, this sure has got it all (and looks great in the CC colours). I wish I could hear them. Love the die-cut backdrops - they make me think of big floating banners.

I do like those awesome wall panels - they seem to fit the era that the girls' orchestra is from. And they are a very clever way to work in the colors. The parade should be quite musical with all those musicians.

Oh gosh oh golly....when my brother was actively playing trombone, he had many mutes for different sounds. Don't need to mute a flute...hey, I rhymed. I love your creation.
