I made this card for this week's 500th Tea Party! Fun! For this week's party Pat (casep) chose the theme of "500 miles" which I just loved. I am fascinated with hot air balloons, but I am too chicken to ride in one. However, my friend and her 80-year-old mother went up in one because the mother always wanted to do this. My friend's birthday is coming right up so I am going to send this to her (I think she will get a kick out of it). The plaid dsp is homemade using the Winnie & Walter Plaid Stamp Builder set. I love how some people write messages on their balloons so that inspired me to cut out this sparkly birthday sentiment and add it to the balloon. The basket is from the SU Bicycle set called Pedal Pusher. I stamped it, colored it with copic markers and fussy cut it out. The balloon is also colored entirely with copic markers. The sky is sponged with various layers of ink to give it some depth and dimension. This card took me a ridiculous amount of time to make, but now that I have made it, I intend to make a few more to have on hand because I think it works for a man or a woman.

What a bright and fun card. (I've always wanted to go up in a balloon, but I am also deathly afraid of heights, so I don't know what would happen if I ever got the chance.)

Everything about this card is lovely: The sentiment ON the balloon, your plaid, all the elements you put together to bring it into one piece of Art! Lovely and the love you have put into it shows. Your friend is sure to appreciate it for the crafting and for the wonderful thought. TFS!

Oh my goodness, how did I miss this? I love your idea to put your diecut over that beautifully colored balloon. And this is so impressive that you used a stamp set to make the plaid dp. I am too chicken to go up in one too. I have heard a few horror stories!
