This is for Lisa's fun ways to use it challenge, New Year, New to You.
Santa was very generous this year with lots of goodies and he also discovered that he could put money in my PayPal account!
By 10am Boxing Day, I used some of my PayPal pressie and bought some new digital stamps. The white pen is also new.
I am away for a couple of weeks, armed only with copy paper Digi prints, Prismacolour Pencils, Zest in pencil blend and a handful of Copics.
To colour this copy paper image, I rested it on a rough tooth paper pad. I sharpened the pencils to a good long tip, then used the side of the pencils in long gentle strokes, colouring up and down the page.
The rough tooth paper pad gives a bit of texture to the colouring and working in one direction also gives an arty grainy effect.
Her face is coloured normally although I did place her on smooth copy paper to colour, then back onto the rough tooth pad when I did her cheeks.
This looked a bit dark when I finished and was destined for the scrap heap. With nothing to loose, I chose my least favourite Copic (good chance it would be destroyed) and coloured all of her hair with long sweeps of the bullet end of the Copic.
Like magic, the last 3 or 4 layers of pencils disappeared in front of my eyes. I think the waxy pencil and the Zest it blend, which is like Gamsol, reacts with the alcohol in the Copic.
I then touched up the image with some more pencils, then added white streaks with my new white pen. This will go in my journal when I get home.
Thanks so much for looking. Happy new year every one.

Beautifully done! I can’t believe what wonderful things you can do with so few supplies! Thanks for sharing this unique journal page, which BTW is a great way to craft while away.

Oh, sis! What a beautiful image, and your coloring is amazing...and such a giggle when I read your description about using the least favorite Copic marker - haha! Truly, this is outstanding and so dramatic (and like Sallie said, it's so emotion-provoking). Her lips and eyes are amazing, and you are a coloring wizard, sweet Susie! Love you to bits and hope you are having a wonderful time! You deserve it! Sweet and loving hugs always! xoxo

No way does it belong anywhere near the scrap heap - lovely work. She does however look a little sad which means her new year isn't going so well, or maybe it is because she got lipstick in her eye? Actually love the colour of her makeup!

Just stunning, Susie. This has such a terrific 3d look....i expect to see her lift off the page and walk across the room. You do magical work with pencils and copics.
So glad you brought them along on your travels.
Super HUGE WOW!!! She is simply gorgeous!!! I really must try digis on copy paper! They don't work for me on cardstock but they might on copy paper. You do SUCH stunning work on copy paper!!! Your images speak to me!!! Happy New Year!!!!!

this is amazing, the title totally made me laugh. ( I cannot stand how lipstick tastes so, I never wear it) yep, a clear blender marker from prisma ( a little cheaper than a copic) will melt pencil pigments too. ( I almost always do it that way since I am beyond clumsy) I love the colors of this Chickie!
