Mediums: DOX inks, distress ink, enamel accents, gelatos, SN clear glitter pen
And I choose cool colours.
Originally I had another card idea, but then I remembered that the challenge said "holiday card" - so back to the drawing board. In the true spirit of mixed media I started out experimenting: I had a piece of glossy photo paper with DOX inks layered up on it, and I hoped that if I embossed a large snowflake design with clear EP, it would keep the pale oxidised look while I could then use a babywipe to remove the oxidation and brighten up the rest of the background. It didn't work out as well as I expected - so into the scrap box, after first die-cutting the sentiment. For the main layer, I sponged a piece of card with Antique Linen distress ink, and then used the Embossing Folder Stamping technique with green gelato and an SU ef. When it was dry, I loosely masked off the pine boughs and stamped a script stamp with Tea Dye. Edged the panel with Pewter Stickles, added Enamel Accents berries, brushed the card base with the clear glitter pen, and finished it off with the die-cut sentiment and a little bird who has been perched on my desk for a while.
