This is for Shirley’s Free 4 All Challenge to make a birthday card and for the monthly Misti Monday Challenge for August ’17 – Framing with the Misti. I just discovered the Misti challenge last month and wanted to catch up with the ones I missed. The first one was August, see it here:
For my frame, I used a HB stamp twice on each side of the square. With the white cardstock square nestled in the upper right corner of my Misti, I stamped in top left of the square, moved the paper over and stamped the second time in the top right of the square. Turned the square to the left, tucked it back into the corner and made the two impressions. Repeated process until the frame was done. Stamped, moved over, stamped, and turned.
It took a little trial & error to get the dimensions correct and I made sure to write it down for next time. I made several panels while I had it all set up. I never had to move the stamp to make the frames. Misti magic!
This frame was a work in progress when Shirley gave us the Birthday Card challenge. Perfect timing. I stamped a loose floral arrangement on a separate square (just in case) and adhered that inside the frame. When working with small stamps in the Misti, I have found ink spots are excellent for applying ink. I have several spots in retired colors and gave me a chance to use some retired paper. Finished off with glitter pen on the flowers & leaves.
Two fun challenges! TFL

What a fun, happy card this is Diane! Thank you for sharing how you used the MISTI to do this technique because it is something I would never have thought to do and it looks incredible here on your card. I love these pink and yellow roses and hint of green polka dots in your bg. Fun! ~Karen.
