Thanks to a gel-print background from another MIX hostess, Polly, I was able to make this quickly after dinner and before watching a movie with DH, while he did the dishes.
I think the gel print probably already had me covered on the mixed media base, but I also added some acrylic modelling paste coloured with Emerald Green Brusho powder to provide some foliage for the little flower stickers.
And didn't the gel print have the perfect hint of purple in the bottom corner to match my bird sticker? The cage is cut from a piece of watercolour paper coloured with Brushos, which has been sitting in my scrap box for ages. I stamped the music notes in Archival before sticking the cage on over one of the flower stickers. Added the other flowers and the birds. The sentiment was stamped on another scrap background stamped with a map in Versafine Sepia - you can't tell, but it gives a sort of aged, distressed look to the sentiment.
I added a black half-pearl eye to the bird because I thought he needed it. Thanks Ky, and thanks Polly - and whoever sent me the stickers, too!

Love all the dimension to this, Sabrina! The half-pearl eye really grabs your attention. I immediately wanted to know what he was looking at! Thanks for playing along with this fabulous work of art!
