I am from the area of Texas that was affected by Hurricane Harvey (which was a pretty massive area). Fortunately, I barely escaped getting rising waters in my home, but that was not the case in my neighborhood or surrounding area. Irma, you are not welcomed here.
Water did seep into my garage which meant we had to go through all the things we store in boxes and tubs in the garage. In one of those tubs were stamp sets that I had not used in a while but still did not want to get rid of. They were not damaged by the water, and I was reacquainted by the things I loved about these stamps. They have now been put in a place where I can get to them easier.
How timely that this is the challenge today, to use an oldie but goodie. This one was probably one of the first I ever purchased at the first SU party I ever went to back in 1997. And how timely that this little work glove is just the thing I have seen on all those loving and helping hands of volunteers, who have come from far and near to strip out wet carpet, padding, wet sheetrock, and throw out damaged items from the floodwaters. Thanks is not enough to express all that they have done for us here in the Houston and surrounding area. Thanks too for all the prayers that have been lifted for all of us in Texas and Louisiana from all our friends here on SCS. We join you now in praying for all of those in Florida and up the eastern coast. Our hearts are with you.

Deeply touching card with beautiful colors. I trust you, your neighborhood as well as fellow Texans, keep the faith and endure strength to get back to a sense of normalcy soon.
Blessings!

I always loved that stamp and wonder why I never bought it??!!? I'm so glad you found it for today's challenge and I love how you used it against the smashed bg.
So glad to hear you only had minor damage from the flooding - the Buffalo Bayou runs through my son's backyard - They had 22 feet of water in their house - both 1st & second floors pretty much under water . . . . Luckily (this time) they got out before the bayou rose!

I am so glad you are able to get back in your home in Houston. I am praying for Florida I have friends and family there that I am worried about and they can't evacuate.
What a wonderful card you created with this oldie but goodie for all the workers there in Houston. Love the bright colors. I am so glad you were able to play along and found this stamp in your stash to use. Thank you so much for finding the time to play along, I am sure you needed a break from the stress of your situation. Hugs sweet friend.
