Jan aka Precious Kitty has given us a fun Teapot tickle challenge. I am very late to the Teaparty, I sure hope the farmers still need more Ladybugs.
I donÂ’t have any ladybug stampsÂ….but I do have crazy birdsÂ….now I have crazy ladybugs! In my head I had planned trees and a garden, but after seeing how overwhelming it all looked against the background, I scrapped that idea.
Most of my tree and foliage stamps have been stamped onto acetate (and stored with the stamp). Usually I lay the acetate image over the top of the background to see where they should be stampedÂ…or in this instance, not used at all.
The crazy ladybugs are coloured with Spectrun Noir alcohol markers. Our fellow Teapotter, Mary Octoberbabe, put me onto SN markers when she read that Copics were fast tracking my nervous breakdown.
The background was made using the “Cling Wrap” technique found in the SCS Tutorial section, with a few changes to the ingredients. I used Brusho powder as the colour medium and Ironing Spray Starch instead of water.
Ironing spray (just an el cheapo version of Fabulon) is lovely sprayed on Distress Inks, Dylusions Ink Spray and BrushoÂ’s, instead of water. The mist is super fine and not as wet as water.
I coloured 4 Crazy Ladybugs and couldnÂ’t decide which ones to use, as I had made an A4 sheet of the cling wrap background, I decided to make two cards.
Thank you for looking, it sure is great to be back in Teapotterville.

Welcome back to teapotterville Miss Susie. I love that you used the TH birds and made them ladybugs. Super fun card! Love that you can lay your stamps out on the acetate and design your cards. What a marvelous idea. When I get done moving mine off wood blocks I might just have to do that with some of my stamps. You are so clever.

Tim Holtz needs to take some lessons from you to learn some new ways to use his stamps. This is just super creative. Your colors are fantastic...so rich and bold. What a fun card.

Hurrah, Susie's back in the gallery again with a real bang now. The birds make such fabulous ladybirds. I can see why you made two cards, I wouldn't have been able to choose which two bird-bugs to use either. At least they're not bedbugs - there's some inspiration for you, LOL.

Susie, you did it again! You've created more Crazies! Love them!!! Is there no end to your creativity? I can hardly wait to see what other Crazies you might come up with. Your Crazy ladybugs are so cute no one will want to harm them...such as by squashing or spraying. That's a point in their favor. In our neck of the woods we seem to get an infestation of herds of ladybugs at a certain time of the year. I never remember exactly when that is until I hear a tiny crunch under my foot in the early morning hours. They are dead set on working their way into our homes through every unattended wee crack or hole, or riding in on our clothing. You hear people in the grocery store talking about the ladybug onslaught. I'm sure your Crazies would never even think of entering anyone's home without being first invited. I admit though I've never run across any two-legged ladybugs. Those must be Australian ladybugs.
So good to have you back!
Warm Hugs, Ellen
P.S. to my last PM...Ernie is doing much better. All the bandages are off his face and all the weeks of physical therapy have helped a lot. He's walking around a little slower now but looks like his old self... except for the broken nose.
