MIX229 = Stuck in a Stenciling Rut? (use a stencil in a way you don't usually use it)
Normally when I use a stencil, I either sponge colour over it or I spread paste over it for texture. For this card, I did both (which means letting the ink dry, cleaning and drying the stencil, re-positioning and re-taping it, and then applying the paste - more steps and time than I usually take with a card!).
I sponged colour with various Distress Oxide inks through my new Tim Holtz stencil onto mixed media cs, then cleaned my stencil so as not to contaminate my paste. I replaced the stencil over the image and then used Dreamweaver Translucent embossing paste - the colour shows through perfectly and it has a wonderful sheen to it.
I layered it over a die cut stitched rectangle, popped that up on fun foam, and added a stamped and heat embossed sentiment.
If you're using pastes or gels for the Mixability challenge, think about linking up to the June CAS Mix Up challenge as the challenge is Embossing Pastes / Gels.
