Maura is our hostess this week in the Color Challenges, and she has asked us to make a card using Pacific Point, Soft Sky and Elegant Eggplant, with the dessert option of using Silver.
Well! This card turned out nothing like I expected! I used the specified inks and a piece of watercolor paper to make my background. I used the wet-on-wet technique, dripping the ink colors onto the wet paper, then spraying with water. I expected a much darker background, real purples and dark blues, with a touch of light blue. As you can see, I got a beautiful and dreamy pastel background. I like it fine, and I did use the right colors, just evidently very diluted! I splattered with the Elegant Eggplant and Pacific Point inks and some diluted white acrylic paint, a la Maura; but I still can't get those splatters quite like she does!
I used Peel 'n Stick Toner sheets to die cut my snowflakes, then ran them through my laminating machine with silver deco foil. I stamped my greeting with VersaMark ink then silver embossed. Added a few sequins and mounted on an Elegant Eggplant card base. One more Christmas card done!
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
