WooHoo it is Tickle a Teapotter time of the month and Carla has written a terrific story and given us a fun challenge for our teaparty. We Teapotters are to bring lots of hats to the party and bonus cookies for accessories.
Kylie Kardashian decided that a handbag and shoes would detract from here gorgeous new bikini. I searched the internet for a Carmen Miranda `bowl of fruit' hat...no luck, but I'm going to keep looking.
It is hard to tell if Gertie and Penny are in awe of being in the presence of Kylie Kardashian or if they are surprised that the region surrounding her downstairs lady bits needs some urgent attention!!
Now about the card, I started by placing the three girls in my MISTI. Gertie and Penny were stamped with Versafine Sepia, Kylie with Versafine onyx black. I then stamped them onto X-Press It Mask It using Ranger Archival.
This is a brilliant product. It is a low tack flexible masking film. You can use it over and over - I store the masks with the rubber stamp. It is super thin which makes it easy to work with.
After masking the girls, I coloured the grass and sky using the Smack & Squirt technique (smack distress ink pad onto al foil, squirt on water and using a foam blending tool, scrub the inky water onto the cardstock, add a bit more colour without adding water).
Leaving the masks in place I stamped on the tree trunk, leaves, sweet little flowers (RAK from Sabrina). Walnut stain distress ink was sponged around the edges followed by a doodled border using a fine micron pen.
All the foliage was stamped with Memento Luxe - Espresso Truffle. The colour is like a dull matt (almost) black, I didn't want a silhouette look, so this colour is a good option.
Once everything was nice and dry, I attached the panel to the card base and removed the masks. Gertie and Penny were coloured with pencils, Copics and paint. I drew Kylies bikini straight onto her body with coloured pencils and Copics, then scribbled a rough outline with a fine black pen. The girls hats are all courtesy of a free stamp set that came with a magazine (unfortunately name of mag and stamp are unknown). Stamp, colour and fussy cut hats. I then used the cool grey Copic C4 to outline the girls, this gives them a bit of a 3D look.
I finished off by adding some red stickles and white paint spots using Dylusions white paint and the pointy end of a paint brush. It is always hard for me to step away from these types of cards; it would be an understatement to say I had fun making this. Can't wait to find out where the girls are traveling to!!
Thank you for looking and I hope you have a happy, inky week.
NOTE: Katzelkraft stamps are unmounted red rubber, just use a school glue stick to adhere to MISTI, to change the stamps position just slide it to the correct place. Simply wipe MISTI and stamp with a baby wipe when you are finished.

Gertie and Penny do seem to be looking a little down their noses / beaks at Kylie! Perhaps they disapprove of the bling with her bikini - maybe showing them up! What an adorable and fun card and yet again a wonderful description - love it!

So cute and love all the extras and all the steps that went into making your great card.

Oh Susie, Susie! The problem with looking at your cards in the morning is that I can't make a long enough comment on the phone, and then I have to remember to come back again. This is just totally delightful and put a big smile on my face. The birds are so much fun, and you have a great hat collection there. I especially like the one on the far left - it reminds me of my grandmother. I used to have a little black one like the middle one - in fact, it might still be in one of my hat boxes! As always your backgrounds are magical and wonderful.

I spent so much tie looking at this, and reading Sabrina's comment brought me back to the hats. They are fabulous!
Can't get over how much those little red and white dots add to this as well.
As for Kylie, wouldn't you just love to Instagram this as #KylieinAustralia ?

I thought I commented on this fantastic card....that list of imaginary things that I thought I did seems to be getting longer. You really have to start a second career writing and illustrating fanciful books. All the little details on this are perfect...the color choices, hand drawn hats and swimsuits, foliage. What a feast for the senses.
