MIX150 - Counting the Days - Our advent calendar has hand painted trees and snowmen that my wonderful MIL gave us. We forgot to bring it out this year and I thought about that yesterday morning when I saw this challenge. I wonder if I can sneak up to the attic and find it and fill it with some fun trinkets for my little guy. Giggles!
DEC15VSNE - Colored Ice Technique - What you'll need is some glossy cardstock, some crystal effects or something similar that you can swirl on the cardstock and it dries clear, a reinker or two and a paintbrush. Here's what to do:
1. Cut your glossy cardstock into a 4 x 5 1/4" inch (for a background but you can make it any shape or size you want).
2. Pour some of the crystal effects shhtuffs on your cardstock and then get your reinker and put about 3-5 drops on and take your paintbrush and paint so that the ink swirls how you like it but it ends up a thin, even coating so it will dry easier.
3. Once dry, you can speed it up with a heat tool but don't get it too close, then you have an hour to finish your card. Use the panel however you like! But let enough of it show so we can see the pretty shimmery COLORED ICE!!!
I did my colored ice with blue and silver. While waiting for it to dry I stamped my tree and cut the oval. Stamped the sentiment and mounted. Then to speed up the drying end I used the heat gun at the very end. This was so fun and turn out a fantastic BG. The only reason it took longer than an hour was waiting for the BG to dry and opening my very old bottle of crystal effects. Thankfully DH went and got a tool then cleaned out my cap. Thanks DH!!!!
Thank you for looking!
