Frances is our hostess for August over at CCEE Stampers. She tells us that according to the "Days of the Year" website, today is Lemonade Day. So, you guessed it, we are creating cards that feature lemonade in some way.
Well, I bought this sentiment from Serendipity especially to use with the SU lemon, perfect chance to use it - and sneak in an extra card for Cathy's WT challenge today: ~ WT545 Awesome Ombre
This really is a lemonade card. DH really likes it, but he didn't see it in the original intended CAS version. A small smudge meant stamping Gorgeous Grunge, and then another smudge whilst sponging the sentiment meant adding all the green.
Stamped and coloured the lemons.
Stamped the sentiment, coloured the lemon parts and added Glossy Accents.
Reverse masked the sentiment using an oval die-cut and sponged.
Added all the "lemonade" work to cover the smudges. Scored the edges and added pierced scalloped borders.

I hadn't seen this card when I made mine, Sabrina; that was the sentiment I had in mind, but the Flourishes set doesn't include that wording. Funny your splatters are the result of a mis-step because I really like the interest they add to the background.

This is such a refreshing lemonade card, Sabrina - sorry, had to say that!! Love the extra stamping to cover the smudges, always love scoring on cards and the scalloped borders are pretty!!

What a pretty bright card - and your background is perfect! I've been making fresh lemon and lime-ade all summer. So easy with a citrus squeezer and OH MY - so much better than powder!

This is so gorgeous!! I LOVE that you sponged an oval for part of the sentiment. Makes me think of a lemon! Awesome card for someone recovering from an unexpected surgery!
