This was a card created about 5 weeks ago, I couldn't sleep and got up in the middle of the night just before a bridal shower for a dear friend's youngest daughter, Jen, who is also a very treasured friend. I decided to put a simple card together for her shower, as I knew she would appreciate something handmade and from my heart.
The card front started with some ideas from a HC card kit, then I went off in my own direction. I took a card panel from the Floral Keys paper collection, and using Art Institute's dries clear glue plus their metal tip, I added some embellishments in each corner using the Lichen transparent glitter. I would have preferred to have had finer strokes of glue, and another time would use a Quickie glue pen, or perhaps I just need more experience using the dries clear glue (likely this is the case), so the glitter lines are a little thicker than I might have chosen. Any suggestions?
I die cut various elements from the Burnished Keys stamp set (first colored with daubers then crackle paint added), using a smaller keyhole and a key on the front that I adhered with 3D dimensionals.
The flowers were cut out from the same HC paper collection as well as some from my stash when I couldn't find the color or texture I wanted to add more variety. Then they were formed, and painted with 3D Stemple paint, then some glittered, and some had glossy accents and/or crackle paint on top.
I've found that when I use a much thicker coat of the Rock Candy crackle paint that I get a more distinctive crackle. I'd love to know of other crackle paints and what you have discovered. Sometimes I'd like to see more distinctive crackle than I've been able to achieve thus so far. I've tried the cracked glass technique in the past (on Bill's Birthday Card) and liked that technique, but I'd love to know of other ways to achieve a more distinct crackle look. Thanks for your input!!!
The flowers and leaves were attached using Crafter's Pick Ultimate glue, I LOVE this glue for flowers, in my limited experience it's the best I've found to this point.
This card front is sitting on the back of my envelope. You can see the dry embossing, but unfortunately the coloring of the reds and greens is not at all clear here but can be seen in the inside view with the envelope back.
Thank you so much for checking out my card. Your comments absolutely make my day--they are a great encouragement and I learn from them.

So pretty - love the layers, elements and sparkle! I know how it is to get up and start stamping! I had a dream about a card the other night and should have written it down when I woke up in the middle of the night or started making it then - I lost the idea now but it was sure pretty LOL. Lovely work Joanne. Hugz!

Just gorgeous and a treasure. I love the HFC Burnished Keys. You made all this so beautiful with the texture and glitter. And, what wonderful envelope, too.
No doubt this is loved by the recipient.
