DD has been working with me the last two days. I thinks she wants to take over our business! Like I'm ready for the rockin' chair? I think not! hehe Anyway, I don't get to doodle on my sheets with her helping me, it's just work, work, work. After all, I don't want her to think I have it "easy" or anything like that.......my card.....
Thursday we were to "button it up". Using a stencil, I drew several sizes of circles and turned them into buttons. I colored them with prisma pencils.
Then I saw a new technique of wax resist printing on the gelli plate. SOOO, I put two prints over top of my drawn buttons. Once the paint was dry, I scrapped off over top of the buttons and wal-la.
I also added some wonky circles with molding paste and another stencil. Plus another circle with crackling paste for the button in the left corner.
Today's MIX was to use the printed word. SO I took a page from a book, ripped and aged the edges with tea dye and put it on a black card. I also punched out a faux bow from the printed page.
We have a new QFTD, LMcAree, aka: Lori. She has a very fun gallery. I chose this card of hers to case. It has sort of the same color theme, and a bow, and I changed her elephants and hearts into buttons and wonky circles. hehe Enjoy your reign Lori!
So there you have it. I must confess, I made a BIG OOPS! on this card. When gluing the panel on the front of the black card, I didn't check out which way it opened. It opens left to right, instead of the usual right to left. So I will be sending this one to my sister in hopes that she can figure it out. I am sure she will be giving me a call! hehe Have a great weekend all......TFL :0)
Hi Sis!
P. S......Thank You all for the get well wishes. I am feeling much better and think I have just about licked this cold. Whew!

Cathy, this is fantastic!! I love your hand-drawn shimmery buttons, especially combined with the stencilling. Maybe your DD was helping out because she knew you hadn't been feeling the best all week ;-), but I'm sure you missed your doodling time. I'm intrigued by the page you used - I want to be able to read it all.
And oh yes, I have so been there on the "left-handed opening" cards, sigh...

you know what catches my attention first on this is that the molding paste has a translucent quality and I can see the colors of those way cool buttons under them. I love that little bow popped up too.

Wow! This is so very cool! Your buttons look real - the wax resist technique looks great on them. And I love the wonky circles. This card just rocks - in a good way!
