This is my card for the F4A203 challenge "Pay It Forward" - to make a card for someone specific ... someone who you really think could use a lift ... and MAIL it or DELIVER it ... NO LATER THAN TOMORROW (TODAY would be even BETTER!)!!
I'll try to keep this as short as possible, but a lot went into this card! I made it specifically for the HS art teacher in the school district where I work, who is dealing with some family issues and caring for an aging parent with issues of her own. Jan (the teacher) is unsparing in her encouragement and praise of my creative efforts, fostering the idea that I may have a small bit of talent hiding inside. She is responsible for my first purchase of the Prismacolor Premier pencils. I have a set of the Scholar grade, but Oh! What a difference! This is the second piece I used them on (the first was practice). I wanted her to have it just to let her know how special I think she is, and how much she means to me.
Image stamped on heavy white cs with HA Wet Cement and colored with Prismacolors. Sponged with Broken China, Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge. the harlequin pattern was stamped with HA unicorn and heat embossed with clear ep. I used GlazOn on the bottle - thinking it would be similar to Glossy Accents, but it is MUCH thinner and ran outside the lines a bit. this product is not designed to add dimension. Should have read the label first, right? When it set I stamped the postmark in Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossed. I mixed modeling paste with Walnut Stain ink and applied through the Mini Time Travel template and wiped most off because it smeared. Lava Red Inka Gold was forced through the Mini Tile Texture template - I was just hoping it would set and not smear. Yay! It worked! Rubbed some the ink back with a damp paper towel. Slightly distressed the edges, sponged with Black Soot and Rusty Hinge, then curled the corner. Matted with black, adhered to the base and added a small orange Dazzle glitter dot. Whew!
Sorry for the novella and as always, thanks for looking!
