Today the Teapotters are sharing in the good memories of Sabrina's (Cook22) recent trip to Switzerland. She had a wonderful time and shared her story with us.
I don't have any suitable chocolate, cheese, cow or mountain stamps so I was stumped to think of a card design. I decided to make a card that had a cow with a bell. I was thrilled to find the colorful, happy cow on the Zazzle postage stamp that is on my card. In fact, the cow looked so happy that I chose to add a German sentiment which translates to "Happy Cow!" in English.
I created a travel ticket/label "sky" with words in German and other languages. I added a grassy meadow with flowers. It was FUN to make. If anyone knows the name of the background stamp (I think it's SU but I'm not positive as there are no markings on it at all) please let me know.
Did you know:
Switzerland is 70% mountains?
74% of the Swiss population speaks German and 21% speak French?
One of the tales told in Switzerland is that the cows wear bells to create a "magical" tinkling sound throughout the Alps?
Cows that are the best milkers, not only wear bells but at designated award ceremonies, they receive wreaths of greenery that they wear upon their heads?
Europe's biggest clock face is not Big Ben, it's at St. Peter's Church in Zurich?
Sweden's Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of Ikea, has been the richest resident of Switzerland for over 10 yrs? His net worth is over $35 billion dollars.
Chinese and Mexican restaurants are considered to have "exotic" food and are very expensive?
Note: I obtained these interesting facts on the Internet. I do not know if they are 100% accurate.
