I was going to raid my stash for a card for DH to bring as a father's day card today when he visits his parents, but Toni's challenge gave me a good reason to make something especially for him!
A2 base.
I stamped the branch with Versafine Sepia and embossed it with clear EP.
Then I masked off the bottom and stamped the sky using Cover-a-Card Gradation inked with Tumbled Glass.
I masked that and sponged the grass - Crushed Olive, and using a grass die-cut with Forest Moss for the foreground. Stamped the Toucan with Versafine Black and a red marker. Added the leaves in with Versafine Olympia Green and more Forest Moss. Sentiment is from the same set, and I finished him off with Liquid Pearls on the beak, and a wobbly eye. There's another sentiment stamped in the bottom right corner which could have been better positioned to be easier to see (but this was already my second attempt), so I embossed it with clear EP and underlined it with a black marker.

A beautiful little scene with lots of details. The leaves are so nicely done; great idea for using the die cut to make the grass; and I love his beak with the Liquid Pearls!

Fabulous Father's Day card for your hubby, Sabrina! I love the way his beak turned out, and the grass & sky are so inventive! Oh, btw, my black ink has never stamped gray (first time I experience this) so it really threw me off! I got the stamp from the huge stash my son gave me for Mother's Day. First time I use it, but I do know that large solid areas on stamps don't always come out looking nice....who knows~

What a fun card with that adorable bird. I love what you did with his beak.....and all the masking. You didn't really want to give him just any old card did you???!
