Teapot Tuesday finds us honoring (Redi2stamp) Mary's son Rich Summers. I hope our cards help brighten their day.
42,000 splitcoastion years ago, in a galaxy called Redi2stamp (slightly north of Teapottersville), a googly eyed clan cruised around the universe in the spaceship "Rich Summers".
As you can see, driving a spaceship is a serious business, however if you are lucky enough to be a passenger it is a whole lot of fun. Hair straighteners and hair dryers were strictly prohibited on the planet Redi2stamp, hence all the bad hair.
Now about the card...I tried to make Beate's circular step card, but it was beyond me today. I have resorted to my favorite fold - stair step. The actual card is made from acetate (you wouldn't believe the "paper" cuts I've got). It does have two steps, but the spaceship was rather large, so i just added characters to the back step (kinda looks like Rosie for the Jetsons don't you think?).
I used a circle cutter to cut half circles, adjusting the cutter by half an inch for each layer. I punched holes in random places and added some bling. The top half of the spaceship is also made with acetate, the red edge is cardstock to give it some stength.
The pilots are cute little Basic Gray stamps, I used a sharpie pen to draw wild hair, and then cut the images out. I could only find 6 googly eyes, so some of them have to share!!
I hand shaped the big alian (alien, hmmm neither looks right), I punched holes in him and added a MS spider web punch cut out to his tummy. He is holding a little Hera Arts Japanese girl stamp, I gave her a new face LOL. She is held on using a brad.
I had a heap of fun making this and I hope Rich won't mind this is a vintage trekkie card.

You've done it again, Susie! And gosh, I thought you HAD pulled off the circle step - I wouldn't have seen the acetate if you hadn't mentioned. I tried one of those - but my largest circle was too small for it to be worth using, LOL.
This, as always, is wonderful, so full of little fun details. I love the added bling and pearls - guy card as it is they are still totally perfect.
