This week our cards are headed to Minnesota and a teacher that teaches her classes about kindness towards others, in what she (Barb) calls the Kindness Club. Barb's group of children assemble twice weekly, for discussions on treating others with kindness, and to make cards for others. Sort of like little Teapotters in training!
So this week we honor Barb, for the kindness she teaches and shares.
I've stamped two sizes of apples, and colored them in with my white watercolor pencil. Then I have colored over with Tombow pens and blended. This is what I'm going to call cheating with the whitewash method. I like this method better, as when you do use the Tombow markers, you don't get the saturation point and fuzzing off of the c/s, like you do when you paint the white and use the markers. So IMO, this method is far superior and easier.
I then die cut apples out of red, green yellow and cream c/s, creasing and tying them altogether in the center. Some layers are glued to each other. The sentiment apple is die cut with a fold at the top, and tied to the twine.
We were asked to include a card kit for Barb's class to use in the future. I have 8 kits to send off to Barb. We were also asked to send our apple that we got from Cindy (Mothermark) stating where it is we live, so that Barb's class will have a collection from around the globe.
Now, wouldn't it be cool, if some of Barb's alumni became Teapotters, and carried on the tradition!
Oh yeah, of course it was after I took the photo, but the DH said the apple needed a worm, well I added a worm on the left side of the apple.

wonderful 3d apples. I was thinking the same, how neat to have future t-potters...;0). Neat too how it is helping keep the "real" card alive...not just e-mails...:0)...keeps hope. TFS..:0)

I don't know which I like better - your version of whitewash apples, or the wonderful 3D apple. Either would make a great card, together they make a wonderful one.

Jennifer, your card is so eye-catching with your FABULOUS series of die cuts on your main apple! I am so glad hubby is helping you with cards! As long as he doesn't get a worm out of the garden!!! LOL Your white-washed apples look amazing too and what a super cute thank you tag in the apple shape! This really is such a fantastic card for our special teacher!!!
