I realized this was supposed to be monochromatic, not achromatic so I mounted this on a light bluish colored card stock.
I channeled my inner afro hippy painter to attempt a little painting for the second time ever in my life outside of grade school. Unfortunately, my inner hippy didn't tell me how to make the breakwater. I used my kidÂ’s white acrylic paint mixed with black dye ink. This was due to the fact that the kidÂ’s black acrylic paint was dry.
For the water I used All-Purpose Ink for fantast/x in 71 platinum, a gift from a friend a couple years ago. The tree is Plant Hope by SU. The sky is chalk. The inspiration is from B&W photographs by Michael Kenna.
All this being said, it may be absurd to think anyone cares! Bwahahahahaha!
Extra thought: I am open to any comments that would teach me more or give me tips.

Oh my goodness.....this is an awesome piece of art! I am just starting with acrylic painting lessons and I have to tell you, you have done a fabulous job! I love the way the water just shines in the dull dark scene! I'm thinking it may be a full moon shining on it!!

Oh wow, SO gorgeous, Terri!!!!! You're making me want to make a shimmery water scene, but I'm not sure that my inner hippy painter will cooperate, LOL!

I'd say your foray into painting was a MAJOR success! Your card is beautiful and I love that it is in shades of black/grey....they are colors to me. : )
