Once in awhile, you hear a really sweet story, and this past week, my Sis was part of a really great story. As she sat the kitchen of her farmhouse built in 1910, a car came into the driveway. She met the visitors on the front porch, who were standing in amazement, admiring Kathy's home.
She asked if hey were lost, or if they needed help, and the elder lady, now 90, explained she had grown up in this home. Her Father built that home. She showed Kathy were the windmill used to be, and she smiled. Her daughter stood next to her. Kathy gave them the grand tour and they shared stories and memories, and they are coming back.
This is one of the cards I made for Kathy's new friends, using "Best Friends Forever", from Tin Can Mail. The background clouds were made by sponging a soft blue over a torn paper towel, and the leaves from Rubbernecker's Kittie Kits were stamped over top. The bottom is framed with Rolled Roses.
Thanks for looking!

Oh my - what a wonderful story. AND what a gorgeous card to go along with it. Wonderful window scene. I love the gingham bow mixed in with the (as always gorgeous) rolled roses.

Another beautiful card!!! Love the roses and the sweet bow. I'm sure the visitors loved the chance of going through the house. I bet that was as much fun for your sis as it was for the ladies.
Pat this is amazing! Just beautiful. I love that image and then the way you stamped those leaves to frame it is so pretty. Then your spray at the bottom is lovely. The story makes it all so special. I bet that day was so special for the lady that grew up there.

Same here, Nancy, my comment disappeared last night and it was too late to re do!
Can only imagine Kathy's visitor's hearts melting as they study all the special touches you have put on their card! This has all the look of a restored home that will delight their childhood memories, and give them something to cherish from their visits to the home of their childhood. What a wonderful gesture of your sweet heart to do this for them. LYMI

TFS Kathy's wonderful story, usually when you view a new house you get a good feeling upon entering, you know if it will be a happy place or not, you often think if only these walls could talk ha! but to have the history told to you by the sweet old lady who comes knocking and you see in her eyes her reliving all the happy years spent there, must be quite emotional for both parties, how precious. Whoops sorry Pat I got carried away with the story your card is just so beautiful I love the sky and leaves for the background to the visitors as priceless as Kathy's story.
